My FIRST CHRISTMAS CARD for 2013...with THE CUTTING CAFE

HI all! WOW-it has been busy this last week! July has came and went way too fast! I can't believe summer is almost gone already.
This week Regina from THE CUTTING CAFE asked for us to do CHRISTMAS IN JULY and had us pick from a couple different Christmas files-I picked:
There are so many choices on this file (12 different Christmas cards, and 17 sentiments!!). SOO fun!! (And it really is time to get started on my Christmas cards).

I hope you will get time to check out THE CUTTING CAFE BLOG for all the inspiration there, with all three Christmas files!

Oh, and just a note for you, if you have a kindle...Regina's daughter-Ebony Easter-has a book available on Amazon called THE CALLOUS CATCHER...I purchased it, and didn't want to put it down! It was an excellent read, and I can 't wait for her to come out with more!
Have a great week!

Docerela Challenge Card

Hi! There is a new challenge up over at Docerela's (Challenge #42). The challenge is to use two colors.
I needed to make a Happy 50th Anniversary card, so I picked cream and gold for my card.

Recipe:
I used ds papers (and the 5&0 stickers) from the Moonrise assortment pack by S.E.I-it was perfect for this card!
Pearls are from Studio 112
I inked the edges & the sentiment from SU (Teeny Tiny Wishes) with Pigment Ink from Stampabilities
I also stamped the flourish in the two corners with a stamp from another SU set (Priceless).

Have you seen the new stamp set and the Nail Colors that were July's release over at Docerela's? Love them--so girly and fun!!

Well, better get going-so much to do, this summer is just whizzing by so fast!!

Squigglefly Blog Hop...

Hello all!
Thank you for joining us for the Squigglefly 'Shy Bears' Blog Hop.
This hop is dedicated to Melissa Chettle and her son Justin.

Melissa was a friend of Squigglefly Design Team member Charlene. She died very unexpectedly at the end of June, at 43 years young!

At the end of April, Melissa asked Charlene to make her a bunch of Shy Bears cards - any image, any theme, any colours . . . just Shy Bears because she loved them all!

(In case you're not familiar with them, ShyBears are a creation of Lynne Stansbery's, a fabulous artist at Squigglefly. There is a whole section in the store, with so many fun images-click HERE to go check them out!)

Melissa didn't get the chance to see the cards that Charlene made, but we wanted to support Charlene in her request to dedicate this hop to Melissa. Melissa, this hop is for you!

Charlene has listed more info about Melissa on her personal post. Please visit all the blogs and be sure to leave a comment. One lucky winner will receive 3 free SHY BEAR images of their choice, so be sure to leave your email along with your comment in case you are the lucky winner!

For my card today, I have used: Heart Cloud Bear.

P.s. you must leave a comment on all the blogs in the hop today, to be in the draw. And the WINNER of the blog hop will be announced MONDAY morning at the same time as the winner for the weekly challenge, so make sure to check out the Squigglefly Challenge Blog to see if the lucky winner is you!

Here is the hop list in case you get lost:

Today I have a card for a really special occasion! Tomorrow my Grandma turns 102!
WOW-That is a lot of years of wisdom. We are having a party for her on Sunday, and will be getting 5 generation pictures--how exciting!
I have made my Grandma's card to fit into the My Creative Time Challenge --which is: Make a SQUARE CARD challenge. So, my card is 6x6. I have used:
MY CREATIVE TIME's (she's got a new HUGE release out---gotta check it out...AWESOME!)
Stitched Heart Layering Dies
Scallop and Stitched Circle
Just Simply Live

I also used a SU stamp, embellished with some rhinestones, flowers, button, twine and used the SU Modern Label punch. I cut out the u with my cricut.

An Awesome Card Organizer file with THE CUTTING CAFE

Hi all! Yikes...I am running late today!
This week Regina from THE CUTTING CAFE  asked us to use either the CARD ORGANIZER BOX file, the DRESSER BOX file, or the COPIC Box file. I had a really hard time deciding which file to use--as I am excited to try out the Dresser Box as soon as I get the chance too, but for today I decided to go with the CARD ORGANIZER BOX...and I love it!! It is so easy to put together!! I did this one pretty plain, as I am running so far behind schedule this week--I think even for being plain Jane,  it turned out really pretty!!
and here is a pic of it with the cards in it---and there is lots more room to add more cards too!!
You will want to make sure to stop by THE CUTTING CAFE BLOG and check out what all the other DT designed for you this week...I have already stopped by there, and there is lots of inspiration to look through!!
Thanks for stopping by!

STAY AT HOME MOMS...YOUR TIPS NEEDED!!!

Hi all!
So, for now, my husband and I have decided for me to try being a stay at home Mom!
I am excited, excited, and scared! I could use your tips, if you have any ...whether it be a link to a website for coupons, recipes (most of us are vegetarians-except the boys in the family), or any other money saving ideas you care to share-please do!! I am really looking forward to being able to make this work for our family-I know my daughter Emily will love being able to be included in after school sports/activities for a change!

**I am also going to start getting really serious about losing weight-now that I should have plenty of time to schedule in exercise! So any ideas/advise on that is welcome too!! I will keep you informed how this goes---but it starts tomorrow morning!!
Thanks-
Rhonda

DID YOU SEE???

Did you see the new little Watermelon Kids digis that were released over at Fresh Brewed Designs on Monday? Oh my goodness, are they ever ADORABLE! I have a made a card to show you using the little WATERMELON GIRL...I have also used a file from The Cutting Cafe called: Watermelon Shaped Card Template for the base of my card. I hand cut the file out, and although there are watermelon seeds included in the file-I just used a teardrop punch I have, and then cut them a little smaller. The sentiment I have used is from a  Docerela stamp set I just won, and got in the mail recently! I curved it a little before stamping it onto the card. I colored up my little cutie with copics, and added a few rhinestones, and a bow. I also sponged around the edges and did some doodleing to give a little more dimension.

THE CUTTING CAFE and a CUTE BUTTERFLY CARD

Hi all! This week over at THE CUTTING CAFE we were asked to showcase our pick of  several different BUTTERFLY sets/files. I picked the BUTTERFLY SHAPED CARD file. I printed out the shaped card, and then cut it out by hand--most all of Regina's files are easy to cut out by hand, so no worries if you do not own a cutting machine! I then printed out the images again on my designer paper and cut those out as well. I decided to cut off the back of the card and just use the image by itself on an A2 card base---I think she is so darn cute! I used a couple of flowers and layered them (that have been in my stash FOREVER), used a Peach Keen Stamp for her little bitty adorable face -a couple of Rhinestones for her antenna and 4 of my brand new SKITTLES from Carri over at DoubleClick Connections. I also used my Martha Steward punch for the fence piece behind my little cutie pie Butterfly! I didn't add a sentiment cuz I liked it just the way it is!
Don't forget to check out ALL the Dt projects HERE on Wednesday evening...they will amaze you and inspire you, AND if you comment, you have the chance of winning!
