Last minute!

Well, I think I am getting in just under the wire this week! The card I have made for today is for the SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY Challenge. I have used an image by the sponsoring boutique this week-The Stamping Boutique. I have used Audrey with Lady bugs--but take it she is no longer available, as I can not find her in the store! Why oh why do I not learn to check that out FIRST???! The Little lady papers I have used are digi papers available at THE CUTTING CAFE under Animals and Insects--4 new background printable stamps

UPDATE: Emily is feeling a little better with her arm hurting a little less today--I am going to be home with her for the next week, which will be good!! Thank you for your prayers and kind words!
Have a great rest of the day. (We just had quite the storm!)

some news and a crafty project with THE CUTTING CAFE

Hi-sorry I haven't posted in several days--we have had quite the upset in our household this past few days!
Emily had a friend over on Friday night, and my husband took them to the local park for a few before it was time to come in for the night--when he got home, he rushed in saying we needed to leave right now to take Emily to the hospital as he was sure she broke her arm. I rushed out and when I saw her arm--it alarmed me!!! I have never before seen an arm in such a distorted way--and the darling wasn't even crying--she was worried more about her friend not being able to stay the night! Well, after seeing how it looked and how it flopped when my husband tried to get her out of the truck to get her to car--I called the ambulance! We got to hospital and they took xrays-it was broken at the wrist and at the elbow-and they then sent us back in the ambulance to a children's hospital about 3-31/2 hours away! She has had surgery and we had to stay again last night-getting home this afternoon. She is such a little trooper--it makes my heart ache and smile at the same time to know how tough she is--she is feeling much better today-but still can hardly feel you touching her fingers-(the only part of her arm that is not in the cast) they are so swollen! Please say a little prayer for her--that everything will be in working condition when this cast comes off-and so she can continue to be tough as she tries to keep them moving even though it hurts!
On a brighter happier note, I had started this plaque for my oldest daughter Brittany -for her new apartment before this all happened and was able to finish it up tonight, while Emily is laying down watching TV.
I have used the newly re-done: FLIP FLOP SHAPED CARD TEMPLATE available over at THE CUTTING CAFE- How fun are these??!!! (FUN!!) I cut the flip flops out with my MAKE THE CUT-and then traced them for my hubby to cut out of some thin board we had--I then attached the patterned paper on to the cut outs and applied to a board that was painted white and had stickers attached--the stickers were STICKEROO"S from PENNY BLACK that I have had for quite some time. (Paris je Taime #10-199) I also added the sentiment which I printed out on some tissue paper and put some Modge Podge on to keep it attached to the board-added some doodles and ribbon, and some fun embellishments  and there you go! There are endless possibilities to making cards or crafts with this pattern!! The little dangle on the first flip flop says HOPE-thus the reason that it is pink -for Breast Cancer Awareness. I received this dangle from Marlene--thanks again Marlene!! She has awesome cards and doodles on her blog--you will want to go check them out if you've never visited her before! Thanks for stopping by!

Squigglefly Challenge

WOW-I haven't posted in several days! Today I wanted to share with you my card for the Squigglefly challenge-which is to paper piece--one of my favorite things to do!! For this card I have used Squigglefly's
Shy Bear: Multi-tasker by Lynne Stansbery.
I made this card for a friend who has a niece who is interested in being a school counselor--so I added that to the front of the desk -then printed it out. Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Card for Kevin's Grandma

Yes! It is the weekend! I have made this card for Kevin's Grandmas 95th birthday--I cased this card HERE. I finally put together my SU stamp set A ROSE IS A ROSE-I had only used one or two parts of it--a week or so ago. I actually tried it this time, doing the 2 step stamping--and I love it!! I am really happy with how this card turned out--what do you all think? I loved the idea of the card I cased with the crimped paper--think it adds just a really neat touch to it. Thanks for stopping by!

Squigglefly challenge

Hi all! I made a graduation card today for my friends daughter--we are all getting so old--how did that happen??? The challenge over at SF is too do something unusual for you--so I guess with this card my unusual would be that I used one of my SF frames-bought them ages ago--and just never got around to using any of them... I thought this one would be perfect for this card, and I even paper pieced part of the frame. ( the set comes with 20 different frames). I have also used from Squigglefly: Lilly the graduate (which comes with Billy as well!)
I have also used on this card a set from THE CUTTING CAFE-2011 Congrats Grad Printable stamp set  as my background paper.

Sweet sketch Wednesday #102

Hi all! I have made this card for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge #102. Love this sketch too by the way! SSW is sponsored this week by Digi Stamp Boutique-which is where I found this adorable little dino in the freebie section!! I love to paper piece, I think he looks adorable in orange! I hand wrote the sentiment--I should have known better-I do not have neat hand writing! ( but I doubt my 3 year old nephew will notice! ) He is so in love with dino's at this time--he can name them all!!! Amazing!
                                                               BIG QUESTION:
Does anyone have suggestions on how to remove the excess glue around the gems when using your I-Rock?
Well, Thanks for stopping by today-as always--I love reading your comments OR criticisms!!

Squigglefly challenge

Hi all!
Well, this weekend was Em's birthday-she loved her apron and had friends over on Sat. night and we went to see the movie "RIO" -it was a super cute movie! After the grandparents left today I had time real quick to make a card for the Squigglefly challenge-hopefully I am not too late! You were to make a shape card-so I have used Squigglelfy's  image: For the love of baseball.

I used my MTC to cut out the glove shape as a card-then put the image through the printer and was pretty lucky the second time around with the size and added the printed image to the cut out of the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet sketch Wednesday #101

Hi all! I have made my card today for the SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY challenge.
I just love Arlana's sketches--and it is so fun to play along! I hope it ok--I have used the sketch on it's side-but all the elements are there.
I have used digi images today from THE CUTTING CAFE. They are from a new set called CRUISIN' BY TO SAY HI CAR SET -there are 98 images in the huge set--giving you lots of versatility and so many choices!! What a fun set it is!! Well, I have to get back to work soon--lunch is over---have a great day!

Drew the Dragon

Hi all! I am excited to have won this digi image--I just think he is soooo adorable! He is drawn by Charli and you can visit her blog HERE where she has a few more images for sale. She has several images available on Squigglefly as well.
Thank You Charli!

Isn't he just the cutest?!! If Charli doesn't mind I think I may also make a girly card with DREW--just adding a flower or bow would make a cute card for a little girl who likes dragons too!!
Thanks for stopping by today!

One of Emily's birthday presents....

Hi! I have something a little different to show you today!
I have MADE one of Emily's birthday presents this year...I hope she will like it!!
She loves to go around acting like a waitress, and asking what you would like--and she writes it down--puts a price on it--and then lets you know how much you owe her!! SO...when I purchased from SU recently-I had purchased the Springtime Vintage Paper and material that matched--they are gorgeous, I wish I would have ordered more of those papers!! Anyways, this is a little apron and matching waitress pad for Emily--obviously I have named her little diner Em's! I do not sew--so I am actually tickled with how it came out! (I got this idea from the little summer book from SU.)

SU card

I got my shipment of SU goodies today!! Thank You Diane! I am so loving these Springtime Vintage papers--I am thinking I should have ordered lots more! I was looking over at splitcoast stamper and found a card that I really liked and I cased it somewhat-changing a few things here or there--but now I can't find it-can't even find the Baby Blossoms stamp set, to give you the link! Sorry!! I told the folks at the PO that I go help out at -that I would make a card for one of the carriers who just lost her mother--hopefully they will like this ok? What do you think?

Well, am going to bed now--was up at 2 in the morning taking Emily to the ER-they said she is at the tail end of what ever was making her tummy hurt--so thankful for that! She has been out of school since Tuesday! Am so happy to see her feeling better! So sorry I won't have a last FBD hop card today tomorrow as promised in yesterdays  today's post....but there are several new images you won't want to miss out on--so go on---go on over and check them out!!!

Fresh Brewed Designs BLOG HOP-day 1!!

Partying and laughing in the sun
Waves rise and crash as the children run.
Girls in bikinis, a lemonade stand,
Wiggling our toes in the sand.

Summer is most fun; you'll see,
We get to play and be carefree.
Dreaming of mermaids and magical things,
We close our eyes as the ocean sings.

Sand, sun, ocean, fun;
Thank goodness Summer has just begun!

Aloha!!! Welcome to the Fresh Brewed Designs Blog Hop! If you are getting here from Lawren's blog you are on the right track. If not, please go back to the start at the our beach babe Linda's blog.

We are getting a head start on SUMMER FUN here at Fresh Brewed Designs! This hop will be featuring the new summer themed Rubber Stamps just released to the shop. Heather has created 8 super sassy, sweet and fun beach themed rubber stamps that are a must for all of your summer crafting needs! But no, she did not stop there! She has created 5 adorable summer themed digis. Join us in welcoming Baby Ellie, Baby Elvis, Daisy and Scooter Elephant to the FBD family. I know that all of these things bring the cuteness meter to the tippy top, but we are taking it one step further. Heather has added beautiful, shimmery, fun and AWESOME Creative Inspirations Paints to her shop!!! YES!!! These paints are amazing! You can find three colors in her shop: Tickled Pink (the perfect summer pink!) Aquamarine (Beautiful bright ocean blue) and Fairy Dust (a MUST HAVE because it goes with EVERYTHING!!!)

Along the hop you will see many of these items, so sit back and be prepared for all the complete cuteness that awaits you. For this release, I created with CUTIE PIE MERMAID-and I have used the sketch from Sweet sketch Wednesday.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope that you are getting ready to break out your coconut bikini top, the self tanner and throw yourself a beach party! With the weather being as crazy as it has been, you deserve it ;)!!!

Just a couple cards I made today

Just a quick post to show a couple of cards I made today-I have used for the Balloon card the set from THE CUTTING CAFE--HOT AIR BALLOON SHAPED CARD TEMPLATE-this one is for one of Emily's friends Mom who is in the hospital. The girls have also made cards to take to her.
next I have made just a simple card out of scraps-and is for my Grandma B who is in an assisted living home for a few days after a stay in the hospital. She is 99-and will be 100 in July!!
Ok--I am off to deliver cards-and to take the Emily and friend to the movie HOP. Have a great rest of the day!!!
